2023 G20 New Delhi Summit
India assumes the G20 Presidency from Indonesia on December 1st, 2022 & will host G20 Leaders' Summit in 2023. This would be the first time India got an opportunity to host most of the world's largest economies. India's G20 Presidency would be a watershed moment in country's history as it is ready to play an important role in finding global solutions for the wellbeing of all.

G20's History and Membership
The Group of Twenty (G20) is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries - the Argentine Republic, the Commonwealth of Australia, the Federative Republic of Brazil, Canada, the People's Republic of China, the French Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, the Italian Republic, Japan, the United Mexican States, the Russian Federation, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of South Africa, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Türkiye, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, and the European Union[27 members] (the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Cyprus, the Czech Republic, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Finland, Hellenic Republic (Greece), Hungary, the Republic of Ireland, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Malta, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, the Portuguese Republic, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, the Kingdom of Spain, & the Kingdom of Sweden).
India's G20 Presidency
India holds the Presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned India's G20 Presidency would be inclusive, ambitious, decisive, & action-oriented.
The G20 Logo is inspired from colours of Indian National Flag - saffron, white, green & blue. Controversial Lotus reflects growth amid challenges. The Earth reflects India's pro-planet approach to life in perfect harmony with nature. "Bharat" is written below G20 logo in Devanagari script.The theme of India's G20 Presidency is "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "One Earth, One Family, One Future". The theme affirms the value of all life - human, animal, plant & microorganisms. The theme spotlights LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative both at the level of individual lifestyles as well as national development.
Priorities
Climate change issue would be prioritized during Indian Presidency focusing on climate finance, technology, & ensuring energy transitions for developing nations. LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) is an initiative to adopt environmentally conscious practices. This ties closely with India's G20 theme.
India aims to focus on areas that have the potential to bring structural transformation. This includes an ambition to accelerate integration of MSMEs in global trade, bring in spirit of trade for growth, promote labour rights & secure labour welfare, address global skills gap, & build inclusive agricultural value chains and food systems etc.
India wants to focus on recommitting G20's efforts for sustainable development. India will focus on digital public infrastructure, financial inclusion, & tech enabled development in sector ranging from agriculture to education.
India will continue pressing for reformed multilateralism that creates more accountable, inclusive, equitable & representative multipolar international system. India would use the G20 forum for women empowerment & representation. India will focus to bring women in leading position in order to boost socio economic development.
The Startup20 Engagement Group will be established under India's G20 Presidency for the first time, recognising the role of startups in driving innovation that responds to a rapidly changing global scenario.
A new working group on Disaster Risk Reduction will be established under India's Presidency to encourage collective work by the G20, undertake multidisciplinary research and exchange best practices on disaster risk reduction.
India's G20 Invitees
G-20's invited international organisations are United Nations(UN), International Monetary Fund(IMF), World Bank, World Health Organization(WHO), World Trade Organization(WTO), International Labour Organization(ILO), Financial Stability Board(FSB), Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development(OECD), African Union(AU) Chair, New Partnership for Africa's Development(NEPAD) Chair, Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) Chair, Asian Development Bank(ADB), International Society of Automation(ISA), Coalition of Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).
Special invitee guest countries are People's Republic of Bangladesh, Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of Mauritius, Kingdom of The Netherlands, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sultanate of Oman, Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Spain, and United Arab Emirates.
The Indian G20 presidency has planned a year long India Experience for G20 member countries & special invitees. India will host over 200 meetings in over 50 cities across 32 different workstreams. G20 delegates and guests will get a glimpse of India's rich cultural heritage & will be provided with a unique Indian experience.
